Crisp fall air.

Fall has gone way too fast.  I was just getting used to the idea of cooler weather after the gorgeous summer, and now it is snowing.  Here are a few pictures from this past weekend where Madelyn and I got to play outside for a little bit before it got really cold.

Notice here that she is picking up a berry.  As you will see, every single picture taken after this, shows her hand clinched tight around it. Within the first 5 min. of being outside she always finds a little rock, or berry, or some other neat thing and clings to it the rest of the time she is playing and brings it inside with her. Sometimes she finds a more interesting thing and trades it out. She doesn't try to eat it, nor does she really play with it, but she loves to just have some little thing in her hand at all times!

Look at those eyes! And I promise, I did not touch them in photoshop!

We live right by an airforce base and so there are frequently really loud planes that fly overhead. Sometimes she finds them pretty interesting.

Here she is trading a rock for her berry when she suddenly hears a loud plane overhead.

And other times like this, she finds the planes frightening. Poor baby froze like this for a good 10 seconds.

Anyways, that is a little glimpse into our adventure right outside of our apartment. I'm still amazed that she can be entertained for a good hour by just poking the dirt, looking at rocks, stomping on leaves, watching the bugs, and just enjoying the fact that she can walk around. It makes me want to slow down and pay more attention to all those little things I take for granted each day!
