Easter 2011.

We had a wonderful day being together as a family and celebrating the resurrection of Christ! At church we got to hear a simple yet powerful message on how Christ took our sins when he died upon the cross. No amount of good works and trying to be a "good person" will ever be enough because we will always sin and fall short of God's perfection.  And that is why this day is so important, because we have already been forgiven by what Jesus did for us! We simply have to accept this free gift... Amazing if you think about it.

We were out of the house for most of the day but were able to squeeze in a little egg hunt right before bedtime. Once Madelyn's basket was almost full, Taylor would grab a few eggs off the top and throw them quickly into the grass before she noticed... thus our egg hunt lasted quite a while :)

And the bunny boots were not my first choice with her spring dress but we found out Sunday morning that those were the best shoes we had that fit her.

And Taylor is getting better at getting some pictures where we are in focus!

Sharing her candy so nicely... mostly she was very possessive of it though.

And although candy and eggs is not what Easter is all about, it sure was fun to see her get so excited over such a small thing. As she grows and is able to understand more, I am so excited to be able to teach her about the importance of this holiday and why we celebrate it! Hope you had a good Easter as well :)
